When horror meets humour: Trailer launch promises a fun ride
The trailer of Aritra Mukherjee's Bhanupriya Bhooter Hotel, a horror-comedy was unveiled recently where the venue was transformed to reflect the film’s spooky yet playful tone. With eerie décor, dim lighting and thematic installations inspired by the narrative, the setting offered an immersive experience for guests and members of the media.
The evening saw the presence of the film’s principal cast and crew, including Mimi Chakraborty, Soham Majumdar, Bonny Sengupta, Swastika Dutta, Kanchan Mullick, Anamika Saha, Manasi Singha and Priyanka Bhattacharya, among others.
The trailer gives a sneak peek into a whimsical world where supernatural elements blend seamlessly with sharp humour. Packed with striking visuals, witty dialogues and unexpected twists, it hints at a light-hearted yet engaging take on the horror-comedy genre.
Sharing his thoughts at the launch, Soham said the film stood out for its playful approach to fear. “It’s not just about being scared, but also about enjoying the experience. The trailer captures that balance very well,” he said.
Mimi described the project as a special one for her. “It’s spooky, quirky and thoroughly entertaining. The trailer offers a glimpse of the madness that unfolds, and I’m excited for audiences to experience it on the big screen,” Mimi added.
Aritra spoke about the genre’s creative freedom, saying, “Horror-comedy allows you to mix imagination, humour and emotion. Our aim was to make something fresh yet relatable.”
