After making his debut in Bengali cinema with
Anjan Das’s Iti Srikanta in 2004, it took
Adil Hussain 11 long years to return to Bengali films with
Arindam Sil’s Har Har Byomkesh (2015). But we were fortunate to see more of this versatile actor in 2018. All his Bengali films ‘Mati’, ‘Ahare Mon’ and Abyakto, still waiting for theatrical release, received a lot of appreciation in many international film festivals.
So what’s keeping him busy these days? Adil gives us a peek into his upcoming projects.
“I am currently shooting for a renowned Bollywood director’s film where I play the lead. Since there hasn’t been any official announcement yet, I can’t reveal more. I am really excited to work with Arindam Sil again in his upcoming thriller ‘Khela Jakhon’. I am also playing a tribal poor from Jharkhand in
Goutam Ghose’s next film which also has Tilottoma Shome and
Neeraj Kabi. Then there’s also Vijay Jaipal’s ‘Nirvana Inn’, a psychological, paranormal thriller. Plus, I am working with Khasi documentary director Wanphrang Diengdoh for his ‘Lorney The Flaneur’ which revolves around the theft of artifacts with immense architectural value,” revealed the National School of Drama alumnus.
