Anindya
Banerjee has an objection when people call him Anindya
Pulok
Banerjee. “Pulok is my nickname and for 25 years that I have been a part of
theatre
, my friends have called me that. Later when I joined films and serials people started calling me Anindya Pulok as there are too many Anindya’s in the industry. But it is very annoying. Now, I protest when people call me Anindya Pulok Banerjee,” said Anindya, who plays a negative character in the serials Ke Apon Ke Por and Debi Chaudhurani. “I love to play negative shades as it allows the
actor
in me to do more. This gets
restricted
when I play a positive character. A hero can’t laugh out loud but a villain can,” said Anindya.
The actor is busy with the pre-production of his next film titled Covet Letter which will be shot in Ukraine. “Ukraine used to offer visa on arrival for Indians before but now that policy is no more in practice. So, our film got postponed till March as we have some formalities to complete before we start the film,” said Anindya.
The actor is a part of a short film directed by Abinondon Dutta. “Sohini Sarkar, Ritwick Chakraborty and I play the leads in this love story. And no brownie points for guessing that I play a baddie in this short film too,” said Anindya.
