During the lockdown,
Shaheb Chattopadhyay
shot two films revolving around lockdown. The actor is now confident enough to try his luck in professional filmmaking.
“Recently, I did a short film by Shieladitya Moulik, titled Baranda. The story revolves around two brothers who got separated for some reason, but again connect with each other in this lockdown through a strange situation. From deciding on the shooting zone in my house to shot divisions I did everything on my own after taking the brief from
Sheiladitya
. Frankly, I am surprised at the results. I never knew that my sense of framing was so good.
Then, I acted in P B Chaki’s short film, titled
Laptop, where
Rituparna Sengupta plays the female lead. The story is about a couple. It features Rituparna as my wife. We stay abroad. But I had come to Kolkata to attend a family wedding, where I get stuck because of lockdown and what happens after that. Again, I shot this film on my own and I think I did a fair job. This lockdown made me realise that direction is something that I can work upon in future,” said the actor.
Meanwhile, Shaheb also plays one of the leads in Shieladitya Moulik's '
Hridpindo
' which also stars
Arpita Chatterjee and
Prantik Banerjee in pivotal roles.
