What keeps Paran Bandopadhyay going even at this age?

Industry insiders often claim that Paran Bandopadhyay will only accept a role when his own terms and conditions are being valued. The acting powerhouse who recently returned to the shooting floor after a long gap says it’s okay to preserve a little bit of attitude.
“My terms and conditions are simple. You have to understand what I want to say. Being a perfectionist I don’t like to take shortcuts, especially when my acting is concerned.To me, acting has to be a collective art and I will concentrate on my own work when I enter the floor. But now I see many young actors and actresses are more focused on their looks and costumes instead of their performances. I really hate this mindset because their shortcomings might ruin the entire scene of which I am also involved. And for coming late on the sets, yes I might be late sometimes because I don’t like to be a part of any idle gossip,” explains the veteran actor while speaking to ETimes.
Meanwhile, while commenting on the rise of good content the veteran actor points out for more than decades, Indian cinema used to be synonymous with made-in-Hindi Bollywood stories which in turn caused serious damage to films made in other languages.
“Not anymore,” just like many other cine lovers and critics Paran Bandopadhyay claims the wide range of choices, more swift access to content on different OTT platforms and the ample time due to the pandemic and subsequent lockdowns have been instrumental for the surprising shift.
“Streaming channels now offer exceptional talents from all across India open to the good content audience. It makes word-of-mouth publicity more influential these days. So, if anyone hears from a friend recommending a movie on OTT and despite in a different language other than Hindi, he/she will surely go for it,” points out the seasoned actor.
