Ranbir Kapoor as Sourav Ganguly? 5 iconic moments we want to see in the biopic

Kharaj calls Sridevi ‘female Amitabh Bachchan' of her time

Actor Kharaj Mukherjee feels there are so many things that made Sridevi one of the most iconic stars of the country. On Sridevi’s death anniversary, the seasoned actor says be it the rib-tickling comedy in ‘Chalbaaz’ or the heart-wrenching scenes in ‘Sadma’, she was a master of all. “Such was Sridevi ji’s charisma that during the peak of her career she used to be called the ‘female Amitabh Bachchan' by the leading dailies of that time and rightly so. This was enough to cement her status as Bollywood's first female superstar. She was one of the very few female actors of that time who could single-handedly drive a film’s box office run. I had once read that she was even offered a small role in the Hollywood classic ‘Jurassic Park’ by none other than Steven Spielberg and you know what she said? She had refused the offer saying that this role didn't suit her stardom,” the senior actor told ETimes during a recent chat.

'Pathan's Bangladesh release postponed

Heartbreak for all those Shah Rukh Khan fans in Bangladesh! The theatrical release of ‘Pathaan’ has once again been postponed and it means no February 24 release for the action entertainer in Bangladesh. While many are speculating about the actual reason behind this decision Bangladesh Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has revealed that ‘Pathaan’s release has been halted because International Mother Language Day is being observed throughout this month. If everything goes according to plan, the film might release in March.

Ritabhari seeks inspiration from Kareena

Ritabhari Chakraborty seeks inspiration from Bollywood divas like Kareena Kapoor Khan. According to the actress, they are leading the way of how you can be comfortable about who you are. During a recent interview with ETimes the actor said, "I love how Kareena Kapoor Khan embraces her age and she does not look like a wax statue. She looks her age and with all her lines on her face, she's beautiful and graceful. She's the Kareena Kapoor I have grown up being inspired by.” She adds we need more examples like that, where people are playing their own age, where people look what they are like and where there is no obsession with being youthful and skinny.

Ranbir Kapoor to play Sourav Ganguly in biopic

Sourav Ganguly has always been quite evasive whenever the former BCCI president and Indian cricket legend has been asked about who is in the frontline to play him in his much-awaited biopic. The former Indian cricket team captain said the same thing recently before meeting the producers of the upcoming film in Mumbai. Sourav only said that it will be decided in the meeting while confirming that the script is in the final stage. Now, according to a source close to the former Team India captain, Ranbir Kapoor has been confirmed for the biopic and he will play Sourav Ganguly onscreen. Earlier there were reportedly some date issues but now it is believed Ranbir has given his nod. Interestingly, Sourav has time and again expressed his admiration for Ranbir.

Mimi Chakraborty slams airline service

Mimi Chakraborty was left in shock when she discovered a hair in the meal that was served while onboard an international flight. Now, the actor-politician has lodged a formal complaint with the international airline service addressing the seriousness of the issue. Mimi took to her Twitter handle and revealed that despite filing a formal protest with the airline's representatives, there hasn’t been any reaction from the other end. That’s why she decided to make the detailed explanation of the situation public via her social media handle.

Devlina Kumar takes a dig at Trolls

Social Media is so big, so powerful and pointless that for some people it is a complete substitute for life and that’s the reality especially for those who are more interested in trolling others, more specifically celebs. Sometimes, their comments might just be pesky. At other times, a troll can mount a full-on hateful attack to wreak havoc on mental health. Devlina Kumar feels the increased negativity from these trolls have turned social media into a ‘toxic place’. The actress who has been a victim of this online bullying feels that there seems to be no pros left to be on a public platform. “It’s extremely toxic and delusional now. Not everyone is thick-skinned. There are many who get extremely affected by what these trolls say. I honestly believe it will get worse since there is no censorship.”
