After months of production shutdowns, Tollywood is eager to get the cameras rolling again since the first film shoot started yesterday with Anshuman Pratyush’s film ‘SOS Kolkata’. But that’s always easier said than done when the coronavirus continues to devastate the entertainment industry like any other sector. There is still no concrete consensus within the industry of what restrictions or safeguards will ultimately be ideal to get the cast and crews back to work safely.

“I strongly believe cinema halls will open but first we have to see when and how people are comfortable to return to the theatres. We need to work on the revenue models. For feature films, it’s a great challenge for us in coming months. We need people to make films and at the same time viewers at the theatres to make a film successful. Both are not suspended for the time being. You can’t just make a proper feature film from home. We are all talking a lot, discussing many things. I have said this many a time that we are basically content providers and we need to create more contents for different platforms as per the requirement. We have to also keep an eye on what’s happening worldwide. It’s a difficult phase we are going through. Let’s now hope for the best,” said an optimistic Prosenjit during a recent chat with ETimes.
Meanwhile, the Tollywood superstar’s latest film ‘Nirantar’ had a word television release recently and since then the film has received appreciation from all corners, especially Chandrasish Roy’s direction in his first film as a director.
