Although the sudden thunderstorm for the past two days have turned the weather pleasant in West Bengal only a few weeks ago Tollywood braved the challenge of completing outdoor shoots and recce in the extreme heat. With most films being made on shoestring budget, there was a mad rush to shoot the maximum number of scenes outdoors despite the heat wave. That’s exactly what happened with team ‘Shikarr’.
The bigger issue is to extract uniform levels of performance from the cast shooting with the risk of getting dehydrated. However, Rituparna Sengupta, Yash, Nussrat Jahan and all the crew members managed to get it done braving all the challenges. While they were completely drained while continuing the shoot here’s a glimpse of how it was done.

Directed by Debraj Sinha, ‘Shikarr’ is a social thriller which will see Yash and Rituparna Sengupta sharing the screen for the first time. Interestingly, Nussrat Jahan will be seen in a short but imporant role of Jinia.
The story takes us to Shantipur whose local hero Dev (played by Yash) is a charming young man who is always there to help whoever in distress. People in Shantipur worship him like Robin Hood and women are always trying to grab his attention. Things take a swift turn when Agni, a single mother (played by Rituparna Sengupta), and a government official comes to the town and gets embroiled in a controversy that sees her come face to face with Dev. What happens next forms the rest of the story.
Rajesh Kannan, the popular stunt master from South will be in charge of the high-octane action sequences in the film. The music and background score will be directed by Aditi Bose.
