It was an emotional day for Srijit Mukherji and why not? One of KK’s last-recorded songs from Srijit’s upcoming Hindi film ‘Sherdil - The Pilibhit Saga’ is out now and it has left the late singer's fans and admirers teary-eyed.

The melodious track ‘

Dhoop Paani Bahne De

’ from Pankaj Tripathi-starrer ‘Sherdil - The Pilibhit Saga’ highlights the importance of forest conservation. The song has been beautifully penned by veteran poet and writer Gulzar.

The soulful track is extra special for not just fans but

Srijit

as well because this song brings back the memories of late singer KK who passed away on May 31. For the unversed, ‘Dhoop Paani Bahne De’ is the first song of KK after his tragic demise last week in Kolkata.

In the music video, you can see Pankaj wandering in the forest. As soon as the song was dropped online, it left fans emotionally drenched, especially after hearing the amazing voice of KK in a new song when he’s no more.

Directed by Srijit Mukherji, the upcoming film ‘Sherdil - The Pilibhit Saga’ has Pankaj Tripathi, Sayani Gupta, and Neeraj Kabi in key roles.

Earlier, after the iconic singer’s death, Srijit had shared a BTS video featuring KK while they were recording the song along with Gulzar. In the video, KK was heard singing a verse of ‘Chhor Aaye Hum’ as he paid a tribute to the legendary writer and poet Gulzar.

KK died at the age of 53 on May 31 hours after performing at Nazrul Manch in Kolkata. As per the final post-mortem reports, he passed away due to a cardiac attack.
