Elaborating on ‘Generation Ami’s plot director Mainak Bhaumik said: “It is actually the first film I ever wrote when I was only 16. It’s about a boy in Class X who can’t digest his situation of being over-parented. What’s more interesting is even after all these years when I started working on the script I realized the angst of a 16-year-old hasn’t changed that much. What’s changed is mainly my perspective. I have tried to side equally with the parents and the children now.”
