Vikram Chatterjee’s homecoming plans delayed
West Bengal’s decision to delay resumption of domestic flight operations till May 28 has upset travel plans of many. Among them is Vikram Chatterjee, who’s been stuck in Mumbai since March 12. Though the actor had booked tickets to Kolkata for May 27, the fate of his homecoming hangs in the balance. “I was very excited when the government announced domestic flights can operate from May 25 and booked my tickets to Kolkata for the 27th.

Though Maharashtra has agreed to allow 25 flights to and from Mumbai, Bengal will take some more time to resume services due to cyclone relief work. I’ll wait for a couple of days for further updates before booking tickets again. Like me, there are several others waiting to reunite with their families,” he said.
However, Vikram is still hopeful that current issues will be resolved soon and he will be able to fly back home where his family is coping with the after-effects of Cyclone Amphan. “My parents and sister were really happy and relieved that I was finally going to be with them after two and a half months. They have been anxious for me and I have been worried about them, especially after the cyclone, which has affected lots of families. So many people have lost their homes, many areas still don’t have electricity. My family, relatives, friends – everybody is going through a lot. We all look forward to being with our families in such difficult times, and so do I,” said Vikram, who can’t wait to give his mother a big, warm hug as soon as he gets home after his 14-day isolation period is over.
