We had told you first that one of last year's rare hits,
Ramdhanu, is going to be remade in Hindi. Now, not only has the process started, scriptwriter
Juhi Chaturvedi of
Vicky Donor fame is likely to adapt the story in Hindi.
About a harried couple, who tries to admit their only son in a good school,
Ramdhanu was a laugh-a-minute riot and Juhi's verdict on the film is no different from movie lovers in Bengal.
She says, Yes, I'm in talks with directors
Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukhopadhyay . I loved the film and even the performances by all the actors. The subject is relevant for a national audience. In fact, it's a huge challenge for me to write the script in Hindi as it was done extremely well in Bengali. This will be the scriptwriter's first adaptation of a Bengali film in Hindi and she adds, So far, I've not come across films worth adapting from regional industries. At least I haven't got any such offer. I'm looking forward to it."

The director duo has several projects lined up for the year. For Ramdhanu, we need to shoot in several schools. That's only possible during a vacation and winter is the time I'm looking at. I hate shooting during summers. Juhi too has her hands full. If the script doesn't get wrapped up by September, we'll do the film next year. But I have seen Juhi's works and am happy about this collaboration. Her sensibility matches ours and I took an instantly liking for her when we met sometime back. To do good work, you need to share a comfort zone," she says. Shiboprosad concurs, I've seen
Vicky Donor many times and wanted Juhi to do the script of our first film in Hindi."
