What’s better than adding some colour to your wardrobe in this gloomy, dull weather? Move on from vibrant umbrellas, and neon accessories, and add some fun to your slippers this monsoon. We took a stock of what’s trending this season at city markets, and it seems like embellished slippers, puffy, comfy sliders and funky clogs are what fashionistas are opting for. Don’t worry if you have a tight budget, we have your back.

Ever found yourself fascinated by a pair of slippers from a high-end brand, that was completely out of budget? Don’t worry, there’s Metro Plaza and Shree Ram Arcade to the rescue. “Most of the shoes are imported from China. We have a huge clientele for these pairs because they are not just comfortable and stylish but also affordable,” says Md Maaz, shop owner at Metro Plaza.



From daily wear to going bling

This season, you no longer have to worry about wearing boring shoes to a party. “Recently, there has been an increase in demand for formal and blingy monsoon footwear. Our current collection is a reflection of that trend,” says Hussain a shop owner in central Kolkata.

Beat the blues with clean and happy feet

  • Go for a pedicure regularly
  • Cut your toenails short
  • Use antifungal powder if your toes are itching
  • Do not wear tight and pointed footwear
  • Do not wear wet socks and shoes
  • Invest in comfortable and breathable footwear
