’s Everyday was screened in the Retrospective section. Three of his films — Welcome to Sarajevo, Wonderland and 24 Hour Party People — had earlier competed for the Palme d’Or at theCannes Film Festival
. Needless to say, a huge crowd queued up to catch his film. When asked about his understanding of the Indian school of filmmaking, the director said, “I like simplistic films with little known actors. In India, films are a big affair.” He added that he was fond of Anurag Kashyap’s style of cinema. While on Brexit, the director said, “It has had no impact on cinema so far.”New Year Special
