Our tinseltown had a formidable contingent at Chepauk. Here's some 'live' action from the box during Sunday's matchShrreya Pande The box where I was sitting along with Jeet, Ankita and Arup Kaku (Biswas) was full of Chennai supporters. It was a little unnerving as all of them started shouting when
Gautam Gambhir got out. But as the team started hitting sixes, we found our voices back and were screaming hoarse!
Jeet is very superstitous.
He sat with his spine erect all through the match as he thought that his posture would bring luck to the team! Arup Kaku was clutching at his sacred lockets but after the match, he called Mamata Mashi (Banerjee) and started shouting
'Maa, Maati, Maanush, Zindabad'. Suhana was getting very upset when Team Kolkata was losing wickets but SRK is such a doting father that he was trying to explain to her that it's just a game.
Usha Uthup To be present at a stadium with thousands of people and cheering for the team was an amazing experience! I am thankful to God that it happened the way we wanted. I might be a Tamilian by birth, but Kolkata is my
kormobhumi. I will always love Kolkata. Some people have asked me, 'Oh you are supporting Team Kolkata?' The last two overs were really nail-biting and I started crying. And would you believe it if I told you that I was in a zombie-like state during the last over? I was numb! I kept asking everyone if we won the match when I realized that the match was over. Tears of joy kept streaming down my eyes after the victory.
Ankita The time when Dhoni kept taking his own sweet time to set the field as Team Kolkata needed 16 runs from 11 balls was unnerving. I wish there was a doctor to check my blood pressure as I felt that I was having a heart attack. All through the match, I kept leaning to my right as whenever I sat up straight, Team Chennai was either sending the ball over the boundary or picking a wicket! When Gautam Gambhir failed, it looked like it was going Chennai's way. But then
Manvinder Bisla played a match-winning knock but he too got out at a crucial time. Thankfully, it was destined to be Team Kolkata's night.
Raima Sen I flew down to Chennai from Jaipur to catch the final match with my sister Riya. And the win, I must admit, is a historic one. We were sitting just a row behind Shah Rukh and he looked so tense, yet focused. The match was really tough for both teams as both performed well throughout the tournament. In the final over though,
Manoj Tiwary, kept his nerve to win it for his team with two balls to spare. The win was, of course, followed by a party where everybody let their hair down. Shah Rukh looked so happy, dancing and mingling with everyone.
