Tota Roy Choudhury: Not only thrilling football, Argentina-France World Cup final gave us life lessons as well

Dubbed one of the greatest finals in the FIFA World Cup’s 92-year history, Argentina defeated France 4-2 on penalties after the mega clash ended 3-3 following extra-time on December 18. Not only a thrilling football encounter but the final gave us so many life lessons. Football fanatics are still divided on whether the GOAT debate settled, Mbappe’s goalscoring records, the tactical tidbits or Argentina goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez’s Golden Glove win but there’s so much beyond the football analysis, at least for actor Tota Roy Choudhury.
“The World Cup final taught life lessons to almost everyone. The thrilling match once again reminded us about how to follow the ‘never back down’ mantra. I have also realized a lot of things after the match ended. It showed us there’s a new beginning even after defeat. If you work hard, follow your dream, your efforts can make you the world champions, Just like Argentina did in this World Cup. Remember Argentina’s opening match defeat against Saudi Arabia? Now look what they have done. At the same time the fact that France couldn’t win the World Cup proved talent is not the ultimate word. To succeed you have to be lucky even if you are super talented. Mbappe is the best example. He scored eight goals and won the Golden Boot yet his team couldn’t lift the trophy. He remains the tragic hero,” shared the actor.

Lionel Messi netted twice to help his team lift their first FIFA World Cup trophy in 36 years, with the win proving to be the cherry on top of his illustrious career. Tota also is mesmerized and don’t know what to say when speaking about Messi’s greatness, “I think if God had played this match he would have played exactly the way Messi created magic on the field.”
Interestingly, we all know Tota is Brazil supporter. Still he heaped praise on both the finalists Argentina and France, “Many people know that I am a Brazil supporter but in the World Cup final, I was rooting for Argentina. I think both the teams gave their best effort and as a genuine football fan I am so happy to see such a thrilling World Cup final, because this is what we all wanted.”
