Fatale actor is playing an antagonist in a Bengali film after a considerable gap. Set in 1960s’ Kolkata, the film follows freedom fighter-turned-outlaw Ananta, whose daring heists divide the city between fear and admiration. As Inspector Durga Roy hunts him down, Ananta’s past and present collide in a gripping tale of justice
and rebellion. Speaking about the collaboration, Tota said, “Jeet and I have been friends for a long time, but the perfect oppotunity to work together never presented itself until now. I am delighted that this movie is finally bringing us together on screen for the very first time.”
Director Pathikrrit Basu added, “Durga Roy is the arch nemesis of Ananta Singh – not in a negative way, but as a powerful force of law standing against rebellion. That’s why the face-off between Jeet da and Tota da will be such a cinematic treat. Tota da is the perfect actor to bring intensity, balance, and authority to match Jeet da’s aura on screen.”
