Sunny Deol’s ‘Gadar 2’s box office run shows the film won't show any signs of slowing down as it recorded massive numbers on its fourth day. After the unbelievable weekend collection of Rs 134 cr, the film managed to continue its momentum and earned reportedly Rs 39 cr on Monday. With a huge Monday, 'Gadar 2’s total box office collections now stand on Rs 173 cr– a figure which surpassed the expectations of many industry insiders.
With its stellar run at the box office, Sunny Deol is receiving a lot of appreciation and love from not only his fans but also from industry peers. While many have congratulated the Bollywood star already, now Prosenjit Chatterjee has showered his love on long-time friend Sunny Deol. Interestingly, not many people know that Prosenjit and Sunny shared the screen together in two hit films back in the 90s – first in the 1990 Bengali film ‘Badnam’ and next in 1993 in the Hindi film ‘Veerta’.
‘Gadar 2’, a sequel to the 2001 blockbuster ‘Gadar Ek Prem Katha’, opened to a thunderous welcome on August 11. The film, directed by Anil Sharma, is set against the backdrop of the 1971 Indo-Pakistani war. Apart from Sunny Deol, the period drama also has Ameesha Patel and Utkarsh Sharma playing important roles.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Prosenjit Chatterjee recently completed his shooting for Srijit Mukherji’s much-anticipated cop drama ‘Dawshom Awbotaar’.
