As soon as the news broke out it raised quite a few eyebrows and almost everyone from the Tollywood industry was surprised. The news of actor-politician Saayoni Ghosh being summoned by Enforcement Directorate (ED) also kicked up a social media storm. Saayoni who is also the Trinamool Congress youth state president has received the ED summon in connection with the ongoing teachers' recruitment scam case in West Bengal.
The ‘Aparajito’ actress has been asked to appear before the Enforcement Directorate officers in Kolkata on Friday with a few specific documents.
According to multiple reports, the Bengali actress might face hours of grilling regarding a series of suspicious financial transactions. Saayoni Ghosh's name reportedly came under the scanner following a recent investigation in connection with some properties of Kuntal Ghosh, the expelled TMC youth leader, who was arrested in the education scam earlier in January this year.
Former Bengal education minister Partha Chatterjee, his close friend Arpita Mukherjee and several senior officials of the education department have already been arrested for their alleged involvement in the scam.
Meanwhile, on the filmy front, Saayoni was last seen in Sayantan Ghosal-directed ‘L.S.D.- Laal Suitcase Ta Dekhechen?’ co-starring Soham Chakraborty. The film was released in February earlier this year.
