Several popular faces from the city’s film and music fraternity gathered at a banquet to attend a Baishakhi adda event recently. From veteran actress
Lily Chakraborty to actress
Ena Saha, Indrani Ganguly,
Sonalee Chaudhuri, director Shiladitya Moulik to Pt Mallar Ghosh, several others were seen having a good time at the do.
One of the highlights of the event was when little Saina Chatterjee, daughter of the late actor
Abhishek Chatterjee, was called upon stage to receive an award to honour her father’s contribution to Bengali films and television serials.
Ena, who looked beautiful in a red Anarkali kurta, said, “One of my fondest memories of Poila Boishakh was when I used to accompany my father to his store for the haalkhata puja and many guests used pour in at the shop on that day. I loved the Bengali spread they used to serve. And preparations for this day began months before. From what clothes to wear to who all will be invited, I used to look forward to it eagerly. Also, I loved collecting calendars that were given as gifts on Poila Boishakh.”
