Time to say no to terror, say celebs
Our favourite stars, who enjoy undivided love and attention of their fans, have realized that in a fractured world, no one is safe. But this is not to say that they will cower from the threat.
Hrithik Roshan and his two kids escaped the Istanbul airport attack by a whisker; Bangladeshi actress Nusraat Faria lost a relative in the Dhaka bakery terror strike suddenly, our favourite stars, who enjoy undivided love and attention of their fans, have realized that in a fractured world, no one is safe. But this is not to say that they will cower from the threat. For Arindom Chatterjee, who is supposed to fly down to Dhaka at the end of this month, no mindless act of terror can stop him from living his life. I will be going to Dhaka for the promotion of Dhaka Attack, a film presented by Dhaka Police. It has Anindya Chatterjee, Prosen and Arijit Singh working on it too. When I called up the director after the attack to enquire after their well-being, I learnt that one of the cops who went inside the bakery to rescue the hostages was the one I had met in Kolkata just a couple of months back to discuss the film! exclaimed Arindom. But that doesnt mean he is apprehensive about his trip to Bangladesh. The way I see it, nobody from our generation is willing to sit and mourn. Even if somebody dropped a bomb near my house today morning, I would still go out on work in the evening. In fact, I am planning to travel to Istanbul too, in connection with Birsa (Dasgupta)s film which will be shot there. Emotionally, it affects me, but professionally, I will never let it affect my work, said the composer.
Soumyajit Majumdar, who is also part of Birsas film to be shot in Turkey in mid-July, is all set to fly out to Istanbul in a couple of days. It is an emergency situation and 24-hour security has been arranged for the shoot. But even if that wasnt the case, I would have still flown down. We cannot bow down to terror. For me, its a big deal that rather than just posting an update of Facebook about supporting the people of Istanbul, I will say I am in Istanbul, said the actor. Birsa Dasgupta has left for another recce The production house too is making sure all safety measures are in place before the cast lands in Istanbul. We are under a lot of stress, but the local line producer has promised all kinds of precautions. We are going for another recce. We will only start shooting after we are sure of each and every members safety, said Mahendra Soni of SVF, the producers. Back in Bangaldesh, Nusraat too refused to be cowed by the terror attack. The situation at home is tense and morose. This was supposed to be the time people would throng the markets for Eid shopping. But hardly anyone is in the mood to come out of their homes, said the actress, who will be flying down to Dhaka on the morning of Eid. BOX An explosion in New Yorks Central Park
