Throughout her career, Koel Mallick has seen a lot of ups and downs but never gave up to the fate. Being the daughter of none other than Ranjit Mallick, expectations were always high for Koel ever since she stepped into Tollywood. However, the bubbly actress happily admits how Ranjit Mallick inspires her even after all these years.
“Due to my father’s huge popularity, I didn’t have to go through the struggle other budding actors used to face at that time. I am also lucky that I didn’t even have to face any screen tests ever. I owe a lot to my father because he taught me so many things and whenever I have taken any big decision in my career, it was baba who guided me all the way. I didn't feel the pressure, I felt a sense of responsibility. It was a responsibility that I had to take forward,” said Koel.
At the same time Ranjit Mallick made it sure that her daughter learns the tidbits of Tollywood the hard way. “I didn't know that an actor could be chucked out, even after the first days of work. When I was shooting for my first film, my father told my director to chuck me out of the film, if he felt that I wasn't doing well. He used to say it's her journey, and she has to face the struggles, just like others. This has helped me and earn my respect on my own terms,” added Koel.
