Tollywood is thriving on nostalgia amidst the pandemic crisis and here’s a throwback from the past when a fire broke out at Bengali superstar
Prosenjit Chatterjee's house in the Ballygunge Place area in 2016, on this date.
Fire department officials had revealed after the incident that four tenders were rushed to the actor's house, Utsab, after smoke was visible billowing out of the kitchen.
"The fire, which originated from the kitchen, was under control in 30 minutes. Primary investigation indicates that there was perhaps a spark in the chimney, which resulted in the fire," a senior fire department officer had revealed that time.
Kolkata’s then Mayor Sovan Chatterjee and the actor's sister Pallavi Chatterjee rushed to Prosenjit's house after the news spread about the fire.
The actor had later said he and his friends who were at the house when the fire started, were evacuated by the security personnel of the building and there were no injuries reported.
