Actor Mahumita Sarcar has already completed the shooting for her debut Telugu film and looking forward to more offers from South. The film titled ‘Oke Oka Aasa’ is a romantic drama with deep psychological impact and relatable content. Madhumita will be seen opposite actor Rakesh.
Speaking about her character in the film, the popular actress shared, “My character in the film has a lot of ups and downs with multiple layers. It’s not a typical commercial film. It was great working with my director who always guided me whenever I drifted or felt like going overboard. I also enjoyed the freedom to explore my skills. The entire crew was like one big happy family.”
Sharing her experience of working in the Telugu industry the actor added that the Telugu film industry has a lot of respect for the Malayali and Bengali industries as they believe that Bengalis are rich in culture and literature and the USP is our stories and we don’t need other extravagances.
The busy actor who will soon start shooting for a Tamil film feels that every mistake comes with a lesson and teaches us how to be wiser. She also believes Tollywood is slowly changing its mindset for the better. Now, only beauty can’t get one work in Tollywood. An actor will have to justify the character he/she is portraying on screen.
Meanwhile, she is also gearing up for her next Bengali release ‘Cheeni 2’, directed by Mainak Bhaumik, on August 11. The social drama also stars Aparajita Adhya, Lily Chakraborty, Anirban Chakrabarti, Soumya Mukherjee, Pinky Banerjee in pivotal roles. The film is set for a box office clash with Dev’s much-anticipated film ‘Byomkesh O Durgo Rahosyo’.
