A practicing criminal lawyer by profession Bidisha Chatterjee and her father Sandip Chattopadhyay also a lawyer are ardent lovers of theatre. Since her childhood, Bidisha used to experience the magic of theatre through her father's stage performances. And this has been the turning point of Bidisha's affinity with theatre. Her debut in Bengali theatre was through a short-length film Kalir Kali (Goddess Kali in the modern age) in 2019 and the film was conferred with several awards in various short film festivals. Even amidst the lockdown Bidisha directed and wrote many short-term films. But now for the first time, she has directed a film titled Bhooter Pallay Bhootnath penned by her mother Rumki Chattopadhyay. Bidisha's father, Sandip is the chief assistant director wherein he has performed a special role too. Kharaj Mukhopadhyay, Kanchan Mullick, Aryann Bhowmik, Manasi Sinha and others are part of the cast. “We have completed the shoot. This film is full of laughter and humour and we hope the audience will enjoy it to the fullest. Bhooter Pallay Bhootnath is a bridge between the Bengali theatre and the Bengali film world,” said Bidisha.
