Subrat Dutta whose portrayal of an honest police officer in a recent action thriller has received critical acclaims believes both

theatre

and

films

possess their own kinds of challenges.

“Theatre is basically an actor’s medium. It’s a live platform so a performer has to hold his/her emotions. There’s no such option of a re-take of a specific shot. For films, it requires a constant alertness from the actors as film-making doesn’t follow a particular pattern. There is only an outline to the actor’s resort and not everything is written on pen and paper, also there’s no scope of extensive rehearsals,” explains the versatile

actor

who is also a former student of performing arts at the National School of Drama.

So, is there any life lesson he wants to share with aspiring artistes? “You don’t have to be truthful to others always. Too much honesty can eventually boomerang back at you. I know it from my experiences. Yes, honesty is the best policy but it’s applicable only when it comes to yourself,” adds Subrat.

The versatile actor further says adapting to the ‘new normal’,

OTT

platforms have changed the way the audiences watch content.
