The nostalgic ‘gramophone’ days set to return with ‘Koler Gaan’
The words
The story follows Chandrakanta (Paran Bandopadhyay), the owner of a gramophone and his unconditional love towards music. It was all okay until his son Chandan (Bhaskar Banerjee) gets married to Sumitra (Chaiti Ghoshal) who doesn’t like the gramophone. Sumitra’s dislike reaches to such an extent that she plans how to evict her father-in-law from the house. Chandrakanta, feeling insulted, leaves the house to stay at his friend Akhilesh Banerjee’s place with his beloved gramophone. After Chandrakanta leaves an antique collector visits his son and convinces them about the importance of that gramophone. What happens next forms the crux of the film.
The story, script and music are by director Pranab Mukhopadhay himself. There’s only one song in the film sung by Raghav Chattapadhyay and Kumar Chattapadhyay.
