The next Eken film promises thrill and mystery

The Eken - Ruddhaswas Rajasthan looks even more thrilling than the last Eken film. The second film of the franchise recently dropped its trailer and unites the adored Eken Babu (Anirban Chakrabarti) with his two favourite buddies Bapi (Suhotra Mukhopadhyay) and Pramatha (Somak Ghosh). Besides the core cast, Sandipta Sen and Rajatava Dutta were also in attendance at the trailer launch and will be playing pivotal roles in the film.
In the mystery-thriller directed by Joydeep Mukherjee, Eken Babu along with his trusty sidekicks Bapi and Pramatha go on vacation in Rajasthan; but besides the nostalgia of Sonar Kella the trio is also faced with a mystery. Shatadru Ghosh (Rajatava Ghosh), a Professor of Archaeology at Oxford University, alerts Eken Babu about his suspicions regarding a missing idol that he spotted in London.
Anirban expressed his excitement about reprising the role of Eken Babu for the big screen. "Eken babu is a particularly special figure in my journey. The trailer launch in front of students was such a surreal experience. This time, we spent a lot of time filming in Rajasthan and the audience will undoubtedly enjoy this captivating experience. This time and the circumstances surrounding the case will raise questions for the audience,” he shared.
The film also features the talented Rajesh Sharma who plays a relic preserver and a professor of chemistry. Suhotra Mukhopadhyay and Somak who play Eken's confidantes, shared, "Honestly, being a part of this franchise always feels amazing, and the audience never fails to demonstrate their appreciation for us. The best treatment is when someone treats you like their own. The Eken is now a cult figure and is based on the late Sujan Dasgupta's novel. We would love our audience to join their favourite maachey bhaatey Bengali detective on the big screen.”
Sandipta, who will be seen in the role of a curator at the Jaisalmer Museum, said, “Eken is loved by all age groups, and it was quite a fun experience shooting in the exotic Rajasthan. Since I’m not allowed to say much about my character, the audience needs to wait for the release and fingers crossed, hope they’ll like it.”
