The list of Amanush in Tollywood in endless: Paayel Sarkar

Amanush 2 is the story of a man who gives in to the devil inside him after a series of unfortunate incidents turn his life upside down.
The film delves deep into his mind, as he starts impersonating acquaintances and eliminating all those who try to dig into his past. CT had a hearty chat with lead pair Soham and Paayel Sarkar and director Rajib of this Shree Venkatesh Films production to find out more about the film and their takes on the subject.
Excerpts:
CT: Amanush 2 is releasing on Poila Baishakh. Do you feel it will have an impact vis-��-vis fighting evil in society?
Rajib: I would be the happiest person if the film could help eliminate negativity from society .Though the film shows how an innocent guy (played by Soham) becomes amanush due to societal pressures, I don't think it can change society . It can only act as a warning.
Soham: Let's hope this Bengali New Year is peaceful. As for the film, it's a dark thriller in which the devil inside a man turns him into an amanush. It's a story about how people are forced by circumstances to become evil.
Paayel: As a responsible citizen, I'm sure after watching the film, people would realize that they , too, can do their bit to save a person from turning evil. We always blame the person, and not the circumstances that forces him into evil.Rajibda has beautifully shown how Raghu (Soham) becomes an amanush by impersonating acquaintances and killing anyone who tries to uncover his true identity . The best part of the film is that we get to see Soham in three avatars!
CT: Rajib, did you miss Srabanti in this film?
R: No. It's not a sequel to Amanush, in which she played the lead opposite Soham. Only Soham has been repeated, as I couldn't think of any other actor who could pull off a tough character like this one. Paayel essays Riya ��� an honest girl who falls prey to certain situations. She is not sure whether her boyfriend is alive or dead. I needed a mature actress to play Riya and hence, Paayel.
CT: Have you come across any amanush in Tollywood?
R: Loads, but I can't name them, as I have to survive in the industry. But I am thankful to my so-called well-wishers, as they've made me what I am today.
S: Many! So many discouraged me, but my persistence and faith couldn't stop me from doing good work.
P: (Laughs) Any? The list is endless...
