Back on the stage with such a concert, singer-songwriter couldn't help but be ecstatic to perform for his fans. Roy's magical concert on Sunday evening, titled Tarar Moton Jolbo, saw fans of all ages sing along to his performance with his band at a city venue. From his much-loved hits to lesser-known tracks, the city even discovered some hidden gems by Anupam that made their live debut. The concert was attended by Anupam's family and colleagues from the industry, including Srijit Mukherji, a regular attendee at his concerts, as well as singers Iman Chakraborty, Laganjita Chakraborty, among others. Here's what made the evening worth remembering.

Classics and hidden gems The three-hour concert was a captivating journey through Anupam's discography. The evening began with Bariye Dao, followed by Je Kota Dinand Ami Shei Manush Ta Ar Nei and Bondhu Chol, which had the crowd singing along. Between songs, the Amake Amar Moton Thakte Dao singer shared anecdotes from his college days and expressed heartfelt gratitude for the city's unwavering support. "Kolkata knows how to enjoy concerts," he said before performing the popular songs, Kolkata from Praktan. A highlight of the evening was his rendition of the sarod theme from the movie Piku, accompanied by sarod artist Prattyush Banerjee, whom Anupam regards as his guru. Additionally, his song Kemon Achho Annie Hall from his latest album Adrishyo Nagordolar Trip, inspired by Woody Allen's film, made its debut at the concert. Srijani Ganguly, a concert attendee who was very excited to be at the concert said: "Listening to Anupam live was an unforgettable experience. Hearing all our favorite songs performed in person was truly incredible."

‘We need to accept Kolkata’s shortcomings to help make it better’

The city holds nostalgia and is home for the singer, and he longs to return wherever he goes. While asserting that, his “music has received all the love it deserves,” Anupam spoke about how he’s seen friends leave Kolkata in search of better opportunities. “We need to accept that our city is falling behind if we want to make it better,” he said.
