Tenida is returning to the big screen after 7 years

After a long gap of 7 years,

and his merry band of goons are returning to the big screen.




Directed by Rajsekhar Soam, the upcoming comedy flick is based on

Narayan Gangopadhyay

’s famous story

‘Kambal Niruddesh’

.








Subhasish Mukherjee is set to reprise the role of Tenida. Three newcomers Raj Chowdhury, Rana Chowdhury and Amit Banerjee will essay out Tenida’s three associates Pyala, Kyabla and Habul. Bittu has been roped in to play the character of Kambal.

The story revolves around a problem child Kambal who one fine morning goes missing and Tenida and his Pataldanga gang takes the initiative to solve the mystery. What happens next forms the crux of the film.

This will be the third film in Tenida franchise. The first one ‘Chaarmurti’ came in 1978. Directed by Umanath Bhattacharya it turned out to be a cult classic for brilliant performances by comedy legends Chinmoy Roy,

Rabi Ghosh

and

Santosh Dutta

.

Chinmoy Roy

immortalized the Tenida character.

The second film ‘Tenida’ was released in 2011 and was directed by Chinmoy Roy himself. Subhasish Mukherjee played the famous Tenida character in that film based on Narayan Gangopadhyay’s novel ‘Charmurtir Abhijan’.
