’ marks the return of former TMC MP and actor Tapas Pal as he plays the lead in this short film. ‘2 Taka’ explores the burning issues associated with financial fraud in recent times.
As per the story, Pabitra Dutta is the stereotypical middle-class man. He always tries to be happy even in the smallest things of life like riding an auto beside a beautiful lady. He even gives two rupees to the roadside beggars. However, when he reaches the office, a sudden turn of events leaves him in shock. By that time, a financial fraud has been exposed. What will Pabitra do now? That’s what forms the crux of the short film.

has composed the music of ‘2 Taka’.
Earlier in February, Tapas Pal was released on bail after almost a year in detention. CBI arrested him back in December 2016 for his alleged involvement in helping the currently defunct Rose Valley group run their fraudulent schemes.
