There are two sides to Tanima Sens directorial debut, Pother Shesh Kothay. Says the director, While the main plot revolves around an autistic and his life, friends and family, the other point is the relationship shared by the parents of such special children. Its about the fact that such parents tend to be emotionally attached to each other a lot, they depend a lot on each others companionship.
These parents find pleasure in the little things in life and in the sweet reminiscings of their past. This proves to be the source of sustenance for Lolita and Biswajit, who are Abhimanyus parents.
Tanima, herself essays Lolita and
Krishna Kishore is Biswajit. Tanima explains why she chose the latter, I had penned the roles keeping Chandreye Ghosh, Shaheb Bhattacharya, Soumitra Chatterjee, Krishna Kishore and Gourab in mind. So, it was a long-pending wish to make him come on board. I love his acting. That apart, I realized that his looks could be best utilized for the character. He has the maturity to portray the transition of the character. Also, there was an amazing chemistry that we shared on-screen.
Theres however, more to the story. The film-maker reveals that Krishna Kishore has not charged a penny for his role. Its no secret that Ive borrowed money to turn this dream into a reality. I was bowled over when Krishna Kishore said that he will ask for a remuneration only after Ive cleared my debts. This is an amazing gesture, Tanima confesses.
