Sweet treats Tollwood actors can’t resist during festive season

Diwali is that time of the year when everyone stops counting calories and indulges in mithai. For many, it’s the classic Kaju Barfi that reigns supreme, while others might crown motipaks or laddoos as the true stars of Diwali.Tollywood divas have their favourite sweets too that they simply cannot resist. We chatted with celebs to know their festive fave mithas and what they like snacking, along with speaking to owners of Indian mithai shops to know which sweets Kolkata is gifting and enjoying. “Nut-based sweets and laddoos are hot-sellers,” said Laxmi Kant Balasaria of Gokul Sweets. According to Sudip Mullick of Balaram Mullick & Radharman Mullick, hampers with kaju katli, motichur laddoo, and Bengali sweets like jolbhora and korapak sandesh are loved by Kolkatans. Rajiv Paul of Hindustan Sweets shared, “Ghee-fried chitrakut and Bhai Phonta-themed sandesh are big hits.” Garima of Gupta Sweets said that laddoos and motipak are Diwali staples.
