Not willing to let this opportunity go out of hand, Mahadev says that Tuku knits very well. Tuku is sent to a relative’s house to learn to knit, where her approach towards life changes. She makes friends and even falls in love with Shamya – an impressionist, whose nature and positivity evolves Tuku’s character! Will Tuku be able to knit the sweater is what the film all about. Post the release of the film, the producers spoke to us about the film's success.

Sudip Mukherjee (P&P Entertainment): It’s now time that we should think ahead of time and bring back the Bengali film industry to the level where it was. We know, in the 60’s 70’s and even 80’s, many Bengali films were remade in Hindi. Unfortunately, somehow we lost our roots. But I think we, from the new generation, also have some responsibilities towards our industry. We want to bring back our pride. With Sweater, we producers have actually introduced a new genre in the Bengali film industry. A film that has a strong content, simple story telling, melodious music and has also explored locations around India beautifully. We had a strong feeling about the content and music of the film from day one. We are really thankful to our audiences that they liked the movie so much.

Animesh Ganguly (

Entertainments) : I am not surprised with the audiences' reaction as I knew that the film is going to touch everyone's heart. We have a dream — that is to create this alternate way of filmmaking and we are sure we make it.

Soumya Sarkar (PSS Entertainments): I want to say one thing to all those who shoulder the responsibility of making sure Bengali films reach a lot of people: Let the audience decide which film is small and which film is big.
