’. Swatilekha will be seen as the mother-in-law to Indrani Haldar.
The film, Shot with a shoe-string budget, follows the emotional journey of the mother and wife of a renowned mountaineer who went missing after successfully completing his Everest expedition. Apart from Swatilekha and Indrani, the cast also includes Shataf Figar and Saikat Mitra, renowned singer and son of Music maestro late Shyamal Mitra.

While Pandit Debojyoti Bose has scored music for ‘Borof’, Anupam Roy, Silajit Majumder and Iman Chakraborty have lent their voices for the songs.


Speaking about the film Indrani Haldar said: “This film is about a ‘shashuri-bouma’ relationship but not that typical ones we see in most of the TV serials. It’s a small budget film but I would request those who love good stories and acting performances to see the film in theatres. It was also a pleasure to work with Swati di. Even in this age she shot some sequences in the shivering cold of Changu. I simply admire her dedication.”
‘Borof’ is slated to release on February 22.
