And then, she went on to redefine herself as she wrote, “I’m making my own from here on. Brave, efficient, phenomenal. That’s US!” Swastika further added, “Here’s to making our own labels, here’s to turning 42. Happy birthday to me”.

The ‘Qala’ actor wrote at the end, “Kyunki, yeh ek zindagi kaafi nahin! (Because, this one life is not enough!)”

On the work front, in ‘Qala’, Swastika played Urmila Manjushree, a chillingly unkind mother, whose daughter yearns for her love and acceptance. The film also stars Triptii Dimri and marks the debut of Irrfan’s son, Babil. The versatile actor also played one of the leads in the recently released film ‘Kora Kagazz’.

Swastika had earlier revealed that she was so moved by 'Qala' even on paper, that she kept feeling a creative helplessness as she wrapped her head around the fractured relationship between the mother and daughter.

Throughout her career, Swastika Mukherjee’s biggest strength has been the ease with which she has adjusted to diverse challenges her craft has offered. The high degree of comfort while acting in light-hearted films, multiplex films with urban appeal and small-budget arthouse films meant for the connoisseurs have created a completely different universe for the powerhouse actor. Strong roles, stellar acting and killer performances make Swastika unmissable in each of her films and web series.
