Swastika in Srijit's next film

Even while happily basking in the success of ���������Baishey Srabon���������, director Srijit Mukherji has got busy working on his next projects.
Among the various projects that he is thinking about is one with an ensemble cast. Apart from the fact that the film���������s premise is interesting, casting for the movie is bound to raise quite a few eyebrows. The film is about two women and 10 guys and the director has managed a coup of sorts by getting Roopa Ganguly and Swastika Mukherjee on board.Besides being powerful actors, Roopa and Swastika have also been in the news some time back when the latter was linked to Roopa���������s ex, Dibyendu Mukherjee, during the filming of Subrata Sen���������s ���������Nondinee���������.
Srijit has already submitted the movie���������s script to producers Mahendra Soni and Shrikant Mohta. For the industry, Swastika���������s casting in this film will also be a surprise because she has not acted under this banner for quite some time now. Ask Swastika about this movie and she says, ���������I���������m in a very interesting phase in my career and am happy to be getting such challenging roles. I am shooting for ���������Tobe Tai Hok��������� in Khannan now and my character here is so layered that sometimes I wonder where I need to dig into to be able to play such a layered character. When I met Srijit recently, he told me about a role he had in mind for me. I thought it was for a different film. I found it hard to believe when Srijit said that he wanted me on board for a film being made under this production house. It was Srijit who insisted that I was just right for the role. The film is very interesting. It is about mind games.���������
Srijit admits that when he wrote the part, he knew that Swastika was just the right person for this role. ���������Bhebli (Swastika) is a good actor and I knew that she would really be able to do justice to this role. When I suggested Swastika���������s name, nobody at this production house had any objections. Roopa will be playing the other female lead. The leading men in the film will be played by Dipankar De, Manoj Mitra, Kanchan Mullick and Sabyasachi Chakrabarty, among others.���������
Talks are also on with Rahul Bose for playing a character. ���������I am very keen on casting actors from Kolkata because I believe this city has lots of talent. Since this is a movie with an ensemble cast, it���������s very difficult to get combined dates from all the actors. That���������s what is taking time. I think, we will be able to begin this film only next year. Before that, I will be making something in a lighter vein ��������� may be, a satire,��������� the director says, without divulging anything further.
Says Shrikant, ���������Yes, we are planning this movie with Srijit. As a production house, we never went on record to state that we wouldn���������t work with Swastika. The last film she did with us was ���������Kranti���������. We will be shooting this movie next year. But before that happens, we will be doing a romcom with Srijit. Shooting for that will begin in the end of November or early December in Kolkata.���������
