That fact that Swastika Mukherjee is part of Mainak Bhaumicks Take One is old news. Now, buzz is that Mainak has also roped in Swastikas daughter Anwesha. Interestingly, they will be playing mother and daughter in the film as well.
Mainaks film revolves around a mother and daughter who are more like friends.
1x1 polls
He wants to focus on this unique bonding and touchwood, Mani (Anwesha) and I are exactly like that. Mainak doesnt want Mani to act. Rather he wants her to be herself in the film. And my daughter seems more excited about working with Mainak who she calls a school-boy than sharing screen space with me! I have been telling her to exercise and shed those few extra kilos, smiled Swastika, who might also be a part of Srijit Mukherjis next two films.
Anwesha, meanwhile, is really excited but equally nervous about facing the camera for the first time. I hope to perform well. Im sure Mainakda and Maa will guide me. Though I dont have any boyfriend in real life, I heard I will get to flaunt one in the film. I have categorically told Mainakda that whoever is cast opposite me has to be good looking or else I am not doing the film, laughed Anwesha.
The film is a modern take on the mythological Sita. Theres a filmwithin-a-film sequence where we see Doel Mitra (Swastika) as an actor who plays Sita. She faces the wrath of the society when a bold sex scene from one of her international films gets leaked on the internet.
Much like her on-screen character, Sita, Doels moral fiber is questioned. The onus, as always, is left on the woman to prove her integrity. But Doel, being a modern woman, refuses to buckle under the pressure.

Abheek (Rahul), a journalist writing a positive story on the real Doel, is determined to clear her name by questioning the societys regressive age-old views on women.
When quizzed if the Chatrak MMS inspired him to make the film, Mainak said, Chatrakand Gandu clip discussions definitely inspired me to make the film. Swastika likes to shield herself with a stern exterior and I tried to explore the introverted side that I noticed while working with her. Her chemistry with her daughter made me want to explore a mother-daughter relationship. And most importantly I wanted to tell a story visually through a series of images, explained Mainak.
Arindam Sil, Sampurna Lahiri, Anasuya Mazumdar, Pijush Ganguly, Rajat Ganguly and Vikramjit are also part of the cast.
Actor and associate producer Arindam Sil who plays a director in this film said, This is a film about inspired by Chatrak & Gandu?
Bengali actor who dares to walk the tight-rope of moral-decency, and faces the consequences of being a part of such a society. The treatment and making of the film would be unique keeping the emotions universal. My association with Mainak dates back to The Bong Connection days and we always wanted to work together. Swastika is a long-time friend and I adore her equation with Mani. So, I thought of highlighting the same chemistry on reel. Also, I have high regards for Rahul as an actor.
