Sudipta Chakraborty is all set to start shooting for her second Hindi film titled Birju. The film is being directed by
Suman Ghosh and
Shardul Bharadwaj plays the male lead opposite her. The shoot of the film will begin on February 20 in Kolkata. “The film is a social drama. This will be my second film in Hindi. My first Hindi film was Kaushik Ganguly’s Monohar Pandey which is yet to hit the theatres,” said the actress.
Does she face any problem with the language while acting in Hindi films, we asked Sudipta. “Not at all. I am quite comfortable and fluent in Hindi,” she said.
The actress is currently dubbing for Hariea Jaor Aage where she plays Runa Ghosh, a police officer. “Long back, I essayed a police officer’s character in a serial. It’s exciting that I am getting to essay a police officer again and the character is quite meaty,” said the actress.
Sudipta completed shooting for
Raja Chanda’s Haar Mana Haar where she plays the role of a consultant psychologist. “Mental health is a big issue in today’s time. The film delves into this subject in a very positive way. Soham plays my brother in the film and it was a pleasure to share the screen with him for the first time,’ said the actress.
Sudipta used to spell her name with a double ‘a’ but has now gone back to her usual spelling. “I added an extra ‘a’ in my name while opening an account on social media as there are too many Sudipta Chakrabory there. But then I was getting film trophies and certificates at the award show with that spelling. That’s why I decided to go back to my original spelling,” she shared.
