Lawho Gouranger Naam Re, starring Subhashree Ganguly as the lead, explores the chapters of spiritual leader Sri Chaitanya’s life, including the mystery surrounding his disappearance. The film, Subhashree’s first with Srijit, wrapped up shoot in Puri on Wednesday. Talking to us from Puri, Odisha, Subhashree said, “It was divine to experience and play Binodini. I am still in a trance. I believe I’ve a cosmic connection with Lord Jagannath and I feel this film is his blessing to me.”
The actress also told us that she decided to go vegetarian from the start of the shoot as a tribute to the character she was portraying. Srijit, extremely pleased by Subhashree’s performance, wrote on social media: “I am in awe of your performance! Have rarely seen people go into such a trance while performing. You are one of the finest I have seen and/or worked with (sic).”
I gave my last shot for the film in the home of Lord Jagannath. In 18 years of my career, I haven’t worked on a project that moved me as much as this film did. It was a surreal experience
