Sourav Ganguly's close friend, Sanjay Das clears the air about Dada's biopic

The buzz around who will portray Sourav Ganguly in his biopic is still not declared. Previously, it was reported that Ranbir Kapoor was the top contender for the lead role but when Ranbir came to Kolkata to promote his film and played a few rounds at Eden Gardens with Ganguly, he said he has not been approached for the role yet. The latest buzz is Ayushmann Khurrana will be essaying Sourav’s character and the film will be directed by Aishwarya Rajinikanth.
Sanjay Das, a close friend of Sourav and one of the main initiatives of this biopic shared, "Nothing about the film is fixed it. People are assuming anything and everything. Aishwarya just came to watch a match and people started saying she will direct Dada's biopic. Ayushmann might have come to meet the production team, but that doesn’t mean he is playing Dada’s role on screen. It will take at least 8-9 months to decide who will play the lead role as the script will take time to complete. And when the time comes Sourav and the production house will announce who will play which character on screen. The casting of actors and directors depends on what time frame Sourav will be shown on screen. And we will only know that once the script is ready. Casting of Dona (Ganguly), Sana (Ganguly) and Chandi Ganguly is equally important in this film. But first let the script get ready, then we will decide on other things.”
