Its television calling for Soumitra of Bhoomi, yet again. The singer, who has always loved facing the camera, will be seen doing the same for Robin Das telefilm, Bhaloti Bashibo, where he plays a negative character.I play a director, who wants to go ahead in his career and uses his wifes beauty as a weapon to frame his friend.
He can understand what hes doing, but theres no looking back, says Soumitra, adding that the director has been liberal enough to have allowed him to improvise on the sets.
Incidentally, this is Soumitras second telefilm and both happen to be with the same director. So, what made Robin choose the music-maker? Its because of his sense of music. Soumitra plays a music director, who eventually gets into direction, he says. As far as the story goes, Soumitra and Neel play two friends who form a production house. While Soumitra is less talented than his friend, he uses other means to get back at his friend, whos all set to shoot his film, Bhaloti Bashibo in Thailand. The telefilm is for the adult slot on television. Its a late night telefilm, but Im not all for sensually titillating scenes. Ive kept the family viewership in mind, while shooting the telefilm, he adds.
Done shooting, Soumitra is looking forward to more such roles. The more, the merrier, is his parting shot.
