Soumitra Chatterjee all praise for Aparna Sen

Soumitra Chatterjee and Aparna Sen have been close friends for years and when Suman Ghosh roped in both the acting powerhouses for his soon-to-be-released ‘Basu Poribar’ it was sere delight for not only them but also the Bengali movie buffs. After all, they are sharing screen after almost 19 years.
When we asked the thespian how it feels to work with Aparna Sen yet again, Soumitra Chatterjee is all praise for the actor-director.
“See, not every good actor can become a good director. But Rina (Aparna Sen) has done a remarkable job, she has become a very sensitive director and the best part is she has achieved it on her own. I have seen how she became

fascinated with the camera. Then she slowly developed interest in the other departments of filmmaking. It’s always a pleasure to share screen with her or even watch her films,” said the veteran actor.
Soumitra Chatterjee is also quite happy with the current quality of Bengali cinema: “It’s good to see directors are experimenting, trying different contents. Bengali films are also travelling to many places. That’s a great achievement for Bengal.”
