The director has found a new face to replace Anubrata in his next. Director Soumik Chattopadhaya is all praise for Bhanu (Arjun Chakrabarty), the boy who works at a para tea stall on Golf Club Road. He also cant stop praising Rakhal (Riddhi Sen), Bhanus helping hand. Now, before you get confused, we are talking about Soumiks latest film (yet untitled) produced by Shree Venkatesh Films, the shooting for which began last Sunday.
We did extensive workshops with Arjun before we started shooting the film, as I feel Bhanus character is extremely difficult to portray on screen. So far Arjun has only essayed urban characters. To portray a poverty-stricken boy who works and sleeps on the streets, is no mean feat. But I must admit that Arjun is doing a stupendous job and so is Riddhi, said the director.
Soumik added, We started shooting with Manasi Sinha, who plays a prostitute in the film. She saves Bhanu and gives him a job at the tea stall. The film is about how Bhanu falls in love with Jyoti (Urmila), a maid who works in a nearby housing complex. Its when a school girl (in one of the houses where Jyoti works) becomes a victim of an MMS scandal that the story takes a twist. This affects Bhanu and Urmilas relationship as well.
It is a simple love story with a tragic ending. My character is any actors dream role. So far Soumikda seems happy with my performance. Other than acting, I have to be very particular about Bhanus body language. Also, it is fun to work with Riddhi. Just like my brother, hes fantastic, smiled Arjun.
