The story is based on India’s role in the wake of Bangladesh liberation war of 1971. The film reportedly centers a tank named Pippa and Balram

Singh Mehta

(played by Ishaan), who went on to become a brigadier and saved his brother’s life, as his act of valor remains an inspiring tale of courage. The film is inspired by the book ‘The Burning Chaffees’.

In the film, Soham will play a cryptographer whose main job is to decode messages during the war and he has been cast opposite Mrunal who will be seen as Balram Singh Mehta’s sister Radha. Priyanshu plays their elder brother, Ram Singh Mehta. Soni Razdan has been cast as their mother. Soham will start shooting in June. A large portion of ‘Pippa’ will be shot in Bolpur and Durgapur.

Apart from ‘Pippa’, Soham Majumdar has yet another Bollywood film in the pipeline but he remains tight-lipped about it.
