’s Cholochitro Circus is slated for a Puja release. Soumyajit has meanwhile finished shooting for Humayun Kabir’s Aleya and is currently a part of Mainak’s next, Happy Pill. Up next is Aniket Chattopadhyay’s Kabir, a war drama featuring Dev in the lead.

About his six films, Soumyajit said, “There are two more. I shot for Eric Gravel’s Crash Test Agla, which made it to the Cannes International Film Festival, and there’s one more international film that I can’t disclose now. Adil (Hussain) too is a part of Eric’s film. I had a great time shooting these films and am eagerly waiting for them to release. But there’s a lot more work on the cards.” In the first release, Ami Jai Chatterjee, Soumyajit plays a character called Bhola. “He is raised by an NGO and now looks after the kids there. Since it’s a thriller, I can’t divulge the story now, but my character is all heart. It was fun playing a do-gooder,” he told us.
