Monkeys allegedly held captive at Kolkata nightclub, Mimi Chakraborty enraged

A Kolkata nightclub's alleged captivity of around six monkeys for entertainment sparked social media outrage. Toy Room, the nightclub in question, issued a statement claiming no role in hiring either the monkeys or their handlers. Actress Mimi Chakraborty, renowned for her love of animals, was "furious" and demanded that everyone raise their voice against such cruelty.

The visuals of around six monkeys allegedly held captive at a Kolkata nightclub for entertainment purposes created a lot of anger among the Kolkata people. Many took it to social media and protested against this animal cruelty.
The nightclub issued a statement in which they claimed that ‘Toy Room had no role to play in hiring the monkeys and the madaris’.

The management claimed that madaris approached them and they ‘politely refused’. They further claimed that the madaris moved out of the nightclub and showed the performance at the ground level of the mall.

Actress-MP Mimi Chakrabort,y who is known for her love for animals, is furious about this incident. “I am not in Kolkata and have come for a vacation in Uttarakhand with my friends and family and I am mostly in no network zone. Wish I was in Kolkata that day, I would have visited the night club personally to teach them a lesson. You chain animals for your own fun? What kind of cruelty is this? When I saw the videos, a small money being chained I was in tears. Is this the way one treats animals? This is heinous and I will take it forward once I am back. I feel everyone should raise their voice against this cruelty and then only we can make a difference,” said Mimi.
Model Tina Mukherjee took to her social media to post alarming videos of scared monkeys being used as part of a circus-themed party at Toy Room, Kolkata. She wrote: “Woke up this morning to these disturbing visuals of a monkey chained in a nightclub as a part of @toyroomkolkata circus themed night. To say that this is the worst kind of act is an understatement, what the hell were you guys thinking? This little baby looks petrified and is probably drugged, my heart is breaking seeing how helpless it looks. How can someone get away with this in today's day and age? How low is really low for these idiots? They need to be called out now!!!!,”(sic) The post went viral, where many shared this on their social media handle and tagged Kolkata Police, animal activists, the ruling party, and so on, so that some strong action is taken against them.

DJ Teri Miko, who played there that night, took to social media to protest. She wrote: “I raised my concern about animals being in a nightclub in a loud environment. I was told that monkeys will be taken away shortly. But that did not happen. Basically, my concerns were ignored." (sic) She also clarified her stand and said she is against any kind of animal in a nightclub.
Stylist Aujopa Mukherjea who is also an animal lover wrote: So this is Toyroom (Kolkata) It is a nightclub in Camac street. They held a circus themed party and chained up a baby monkey the entire time!!!!!!!! Why??? And how was this allowed? This is inhuman & disgusting!!! PETA India PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) (sic)
Anindya Chatterjee who is known as an animal lover said, “If one wants to use any animals at a commercial place one needs permission. First of all, why should an animal be for our commercial benefit and fun? Why? The monkey was petrified. I feel the authorities should take severe steps against them to set an example.”
Actress Swastika Mukherjee also shared a post on her social media. She wrote: It’s disheartening to see what #toyroomkolkata did in the name of an act to stand out! Well, you sure did. For all the wrong reasons.
This is cruelty to a different level.

And what is wrong with the people who has gone to party there and indulging in this cruel act ? No one stopped this right there and then ? What is wrong with human beings ?
And TOYROOM KOLKATA has barred people from tagging them. They think they can get away with this atrocity by disabling their social media handles ?! (sic)
