Singapore calling for Ahaa Re

Ranjan Ghosh’s Ahaa Re is doing the rounds of film festivals abroad. After making it to the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne, the director is off to

Singapore

to attend yet another festival. Taking to social media, the director announced the good news. “AhaaRe has been selected for the prestigious Singapore South Asian International Film Festival. The screening is this Saturday, 31st August, 6.30pm, at Golden Village Cinemas (Screen 6), Suntec City. #RituparnaSengupta and #YoursTruly will be in attendance. Come, watch the film and spread the love,” he wrote. Before leaving for Singapore, he also shared a photograph at the airport, where he is seen with Arjunn Dutta, director of Abyakto. Both Ahaa Re and Abyakto will be screened at the festival in the Asia Premiere section. The festival, to be held from August 30 to September 7 in Singapore, will also include an awards ceremony. Both Rituparna and Ranjan recently returned from Melbourne, where the film had two back-to-back screenings. Even though the actress had said she was busy with the festival, Ranjan shared a few pictures from their trip and wrote, “When friends treat you to some golden visuals at the St. Kilda Beach, Williamstown Beach and the Wharf, the Great Ocean Road till Lorne, an endless list.” Ahaa Re is about a Bangladeshi chef, who forged a bond with a woman running a home kitchen in Kolkata. Rituparna was nominated for her role as Basundhara in

Melbourne

and competed with the likes of Tabu, Neena Gupta, Alia Bhatt, Jigmet Dewa Lhamo and Zerifa Wahid.
