Sidhu turns an aspiring director in ‘Circle’

Cactus fame Sidhu aka Siddhartha Ray is keeping busy these days juggling between his live shows and cinematic roles. The singer-composer has become a prominent face in Bengali cinema over the last few years playing some crucial roles in critically acclaimed films. The latest addition to his upcoming films is Tanmoy Roy’s ‘

’. The cast also includes a bunch of well-known actors like Asrani, Amita Nangia, Rakesh Pande, Ena Saha, Kharaj Mukherjee, Biswajit Chakraborty and others.

The plot revolves around three people who are ardent film lovers. They live in a crowded Kolkata mess. After his graduation Amit comes to Kolkata with a dream of becoming an actor. The other guy 30-year-old Suman once came to Kolkata to become an actor but ends up being a supplier of herbal products. The third among the trio Rohit, a bit older than the other two, is an aspiring director and wants to make films like Felini. Whether their dreams come true that’s what forms the crux of the film.

While speaking about his character in the film, Sidhu said: “I have acted in a few films, scripted for a reality show and even once directed a short film. But the films that I have acted in so far, I was portrayed as Sidhu. Here I am a person who dreams of becoming a director but ends up being an editor. The character seemed quite interesting to me.”
